I first started this site last year. I had good intentions. I was running a large complicated project at work and I’d been challenged on some of the assumptions that I had thought were proven and accepted. I realized that my career growth had paused. I’d become too specialized. I’d stopped exploring and the goal of this blog was to reignite that passion.

It half worked. In 2019 and 2020 I spent time with Rust, Go, Lua, JavaScript, React, React Native, Flutter, WASM, Typescript, Rails and a bunch of other things. I didn’t ship much, but that wasn’t really the point. I’ve never shipped a lot of side projects and I have no intention of starting now. Learning is messy and I don’t want to maintain (or finish!) any of the shit I’ve built while trying to learn. This blog instead should be about capturing my learning, and possibly recording what’s going on in my life.

I’m going to try again.
